Desiring to make a contribution to the current discussion on the proposed Artificial Fertilization Act, the bishops emphasize several fundamental principles upon which the position of the Catholic Church is based and which should be taken into consideration when making decisions regarding this delicate matter

On Saturday, July 4, Nikola Nino Kekić, the newly appointed bishop of the Greek Catholic Eparchy of Križevci, was ordained in the Greek Catholic cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Križevci.

"The defense of the Homeland left abundant testimony of love. Therefore, we are not indifferent when money is considered to be the supreme criterion in our Homeland, when there is talk about prosperity that neglects love and there is talk that rends national unity asunder. This is not a question of political options but of the life of the nation," said the cardinal in his homily.

Georg Kopetzky is the recipient of the St. Vitas Medallion of the Archdiocese of Rijeka.

The topic was "The Economic-Financial Crisis: Hope(less)? Experiences, Initiatives, Problems and Responses of the Church in Europe."
