In a message signed by the Vatican's Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Pope Leo XIV invites the young people participating in the international youth festival in Međugorje to rediscover the beauty of a personal encounter with the Lord. The message was read on 1 August, the first evening of the festival, by the Apostolic Visitor with a special assignment for the Parish of Međugorje, Archbishop Aldo Cavalli.

Thousands of Croatian pilgrims gathered in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican for Mass on October 7, as part of the Croatian National Pilgrimage to Rome. Ahead of the Mass, the pilgrims were greeted by Pope Leo XIV, while the Eucharist was celebrated by the President of the Croatian Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop of Zagreb Dražen Kutleša.

Thousands of Croatian pilgrims from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as from other countries where Croats live, gathered on the evening of October 7 in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican on the occassion of the national Jubilee pilgrimage. Before the beginning of the Mass, which was presided by Archbishop of Zagreb Dražen Kutleša, Pope Leo XIV toured the gathered faithful in the popemobile and then addressed them with a welcoming speech.
