Zagreb, (IKA) – On July 20, the new Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Croatia, Archbishop Alessandro D’Errico, met with the president of the Jewish Community in Zagreb and coordinator of the Jewish communities in Croatia, Prof. Dr. Ognjen Kraus, together with the rabbi of the Jewish community in Zagreb, Dr. Luciano Prelević.
The Nuncio noted that Blessed Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI were greatly interested in the culture and traditions of the Jewish people. He said that he sees Jews as brothers and fathers in faith and expressed the wish for unity in their efforts in the religious, cultural and social areas.
The president of the Jewish community congratulated the Nuncio on his mission, while Dr. Prelević spoke of various projects currently being implemented in cooperation with the Catholic community, and expressed the wish for such projects to continue to develop for the good of the country and the Croatian people.
