Osijek, (IKA) – On Wednesday, October 22, Ecumenical Charters of the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek were presented to a Catholic biblical scholar, Prof. Bonaventura Duda, and the Serbian Orthodox Bishop of Šabac, Lavrentije Trifunović. This was emphasized as one of the most significant steps in ecumenicism because the charters were awarded to representatives of the Catholic and Orthodox religions. Both had worked on translations of the Bible and contributed greatly to the spreading of the word of God, in their nations and beyond.
The charters were awarded to the biblical translators within the framework of Christian Book Week, a manifestation that is part of the traditional Reformation Week organized by the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek.
