One of the brightest moral beacons of our age has been extinguished, a herald of peace and an advocate of the poor, emphasizes Bishop Škvorčević
Požega (IKA) – Following the news of the death of Pope Paul II, Bishop Antun Škvorčević of Požega sent an encyclical to the priests, religious, nuns and all the faithful of his diocese in which he emphasized how one of the brightest moral beacons of our age had been extinguished, a herald of peace and an advocate of the poor.
He became ours in a particular way, and we became his when he established the Požega Diocese in the year 1997 and when in 2003 he crowned the beloved image of Our Lady of Voćin in Osijek, noted the bishop.
