Premier Sanader Receives Nuncio Lozano

Premier Ivo Sanader of Croatia received the apostolic nuncio in Croatia, Archbishop Francisco-Javier Lozano

Zagreb (IKA) — Premier Ivo Sanader of Croatia received the apostolic nuncio in Croatia, Archbishop Francisco-Javier Lozano, on January 19. After the meeting, which was closed to the public, Premier Sanader and Nuncio Lozano issued brief statements.
Premier Sanader wished the nuncio all the best at the beginning of his new duties in Croatia and thanked him for assisting in the organization of his recent visit to Pope John Paul II. They spoke about important foreign political topics, said Premier Sanader following the meeting, adding that he had informed the nuncio on the positions of the Government regarding Croatian admission to the European Union and NATO. “I requested assistance from the Holy See, that can help us become closer to the EU and NATO,” emphasized Dr. Sanader.
Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Francisco-Javier Lozano thanked Premier Sanader for the attentiveness that the Croatian Government has shown toward the Holy See. Croatia and the Holy See certainly can work together for the stabilization of the region in which Croatia is located. The nuncio expressed the Holy See’s support for Croatia’s entering the European Union soon. He also thanked Premier Sanader for his recent visit to the Holy See.
