Representatives of Religious Communities to Attend the Liturgical Celebration with the Pope in Osijek

Some of the representatives of the religious communities will be meeting with the Pope
Osijek, (IKA) – The liturgical celebration to be held in Osijek on Saturday, June 7, will be attended by representatives of various religious communities, some of whom will also meet with Pope John Paul II.
The representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church who will be meeting with the Pope are Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb-Ljubljana and all of Italy, Episcope (Bishop) Lukijan of Osijek and Baranja, Episcope Irinej of Backa, Episcope Vasilije of Srem and Episcope Sava of Slavonia. The representatives of the other religious communities meeting with the Pope are Acting Bishop Branko Beric of the Evangelical Church in the Republic of Croatia, Bishop Endre Langh of the Reformed Church in the Republic of Croatia; Toma Magda, president of the Association of Baptist Churches in the Republic of Croatia; and the Rev. Sevko Omerbasic, president of the Islamic Community in the Republic of Croatia.
Representatives of other religious communities who will attend the liturgical celebration but will not be meeting with the Pope include the entourage of Metropolitan Jovan, Guido D’Antonio and Jovana Snezana Petrovic; the entourage of Episcope Lukijan, the Rev. Ratomir Petrovic, the Rev. Miron (Miljan) Vucicevic and the Rev. Jovan Stanojevic; the escort of Bishop Irinej, Bojan Djordjevic; the escort of Episcope Vasilije, Radoslav Trajkovic; the escort of Endre Langh, Steven D. Kurtz; the pastor of the Evangelical Church in Osijek and chief presbyter, Damir Spoljaric; the president of the Presbyters of the Evangelical Church in the Republic of Croatia, Pavao Mogus, the escort of the Rev. Omerbasic, Mirsad Srebrenikovic; the chief imam of Osijek-Baranja, Enes Poljic; and the chief imam of Gunja, Idriz Besic.
