Banja Luka, August 7, 2001 (IKA/KTA) — According to data from Caritas of the Banja Luka Diocese, presented today at a press conference held by the International League of Humanists in Banja Luka by the bishop of Banja Luka, Dr. Franjo Komarica, during the period from July 1, 1997 to July 30, 2001, 2,944 requests have been submitted to the Commission for the Property Claims of Refugees and Displaced Persons, of which 1,262 have been settled. The Ministry for Refugees and Displaced Persons of the Republika Srpska has received 2,920 claims, of which 299 have been settled. Two hundred and seventy-six buildings have been returned, of which 176 are apartments and 100 are family homes. According to data from Caritas, which is broken down according to municipality, 757 families or 1,462 persons have returned to their homes as of August 2 of this year. Three hundred and eighty-five families or 731 persons have returned to the Banja Luka Municipality. Thirty-one families or 79 persons have returned to the Gradiška Municipality. One family with two members has returned to Dragalovci. One hundred and nineteen families or 212 persons have returned to Kotor Varoš. Thirty families or 60 persons have returned to Laktaši. One hundred and thirty-five families or 266 persons have returned to the Prijedor Municipality and 29 families have returned to Prnjavor. Twenty-eight families or 59 persons have returned to Stara Rijeka, while 2 families or 5 persons have returned to Mrkonjić Grad.
