GIFTS FOR THE HOLY FATHER
Zagreb, October 2, 1998 (IKA) — Besides two official gifts, the Holy Father has also received the following: “Gazophylacium” [17th century Croatian-Latin dictionary] by Ivan Belostenec from the Croatian minister of culture, Božo Biškupić; the books “Terra Combusta” and “Martirologija Crkve Zagrebačke” [Martyrology of the Church of Zagreb] from Dr. Stjepan Kožul, the book “Ranjeno raspelo” [The Wounded Crucifix] from Dr. Slobodan Lang, a bell from Metal Product, a sculpture of the head of Christ from Mato Sabljić of Pula, a bronze figure entitled “Mary in a Cloak” from Stanko Jančić, a bronze figure entitled “Cardinal Stepinac” by eljko Karaula given by the Association of Croatian Political Prisoners, a crystal cross from Mirjana Smidt, a needlepoint of the pontifical coat of arms from Dragica Stojanović, a painting entitled “Our Lady of Lourdes” from Nenad Marinac, a painting entitled “Martyrs of Drina” from the Daughters of Divine Love, picture-married women#!s cap from Croatian women of Zagreb; paintings from Dinko Sule, Stjepan Vrbanec and Marko Alan ak; a Missal from Carmelite Nuns of Brezovica, handicrafts from the Croatian Society of Intellectuals and Mirko Milicević, a cravat from Croata, knitted slippers from Slavko Buchenauer, a cap and symbols from the Crusader Organization, a monograph on the painter Ivo Vojvodic, a CD of Croatian religious music from Croatian Television, a CD entitled “Dragulji hrvatske glazbe” [Jewels of Croatian Music] from Croatian Catholic Radio, and a CD and cassette from Collegium pro Musica Sacra. These gifts have already been delivered to the Nunciature in Zagreb.
