A record number of 31,917 particiapants have registred for the Croatian Catholic Youth Rally in Dubrovnik

It is estimated that, together with the young people of the Diocese of Dubrovnik, there will be over 35,000 participants at the Youth Rally in Dubrovnik.
Dubrovnik, (IKA) – A record number of 31,917 participants have registered for the upcoming Croatian Catholic Youth Rally (CCYR), which will be held on April 26 and 27 in Dubrovnik, announced the Subcommittee for the Media of the Organizing Committee of the CCYR in Dubrovnik on March 10. It is estimated that, together with the young people of the Diocese of Dubrovnik, there will be over 35,000 participants. This will be the largest gathering of young people in comparison to previous rallies, which have been organized since 1996.
“Taking into account the rallies to date, the majority of dioceses have registered record numbers of young people who will participate at the CCYR in Dubrovnik. The largest number of registrations were received from the Archdiocese of Zagreb, 6,525; the Archdiocese of Đakovo-Osijek, 3728; the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska, 3,637; the Diocese of Požega, 1,886; the Archdiocese of Zadar, 1,758; the Diocese of Sisak, 1,039; the Diocese of Šibenik, 1,022; the Archdiocese of Rijeka, 1,055; while 3,296 are expected from the Diocese of Mostar and 1,416 from the Archdiocese of Sarajevo. This rally will also have an international character because 524 young people from other countries will take part, who are coming from Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary and Macedonia. We wish to emphasize that a hundred young people from the Eparchy of Križevci will be participating in this rally, making this the largest gathering of young Greek Catholics in Croatia so far,” says the statement.
The organizers also announce that there will be 1,600 young volunteers from the Diocese of Dubrovnik, which is extremely proud of them, as well as the numerous families from Dubrovnik and the surroundings who will provide accommodations to the young people for one night. “All this testifies to the living Church, communion and spiritual awakening of the Diocese of Dubrovnik, which initiated this youth rally,” concludes the statement.
