All local residents of Sarajevo, regardless of nationality listen to catholic radio Vrh-Bosna

Vatican, 2. 10. 1996. (IKA) – “It was the time of the most severe attacks
on Sarajevo. It was the time when it was very difficult to write, very difficult to write, very difficult to speak, and of course the most difficult to start a radio station#!#!, emphasized in the iterview for Radio Vatican the chief editor of Radio Vrh-Bosnia dr. Franjo Topiæ, tried to establish a radio station at the city level in Sarajevo.
Croatian literal language is the offcial language for the radio. The purpose of that was to save the Croatian identity in Sarajevo, because we were always present at these territories. We always lived with the others in Sarajevo, Serbs – Orthodox, and Bosnian – Muslims, and Croats – Catholics. That was the reason why we tried to save what was ours, but we always talkod about others and their cultures. At the beginning, we talked only about cultures, about the activities of HKD “Napredak”, later when we have established the true radio station, we started to talk about all what was happening in the town, about all what was important for our residents”.
At the beginning, the program was broadcasted from 15h to 24h, but after
two years of work, from noon to midnight. All 12 hours was own program. In the meantime, they were broadcasting musical programs from satelite. The frequency of Radio Vrh-Bosnia is 100,3 and the strength or the signals are 70 to 80 km outside the city, through the valley of the river Bosnia. As they say, they had no difficulties for their work. They cooperate with everybody in the town, and in the entire Federation of Bosnia and Herzgovina. Interviews and tasks are the most frequent on the program, so only last year they had more then 840 guests. Recently they started to broadcast the Croatian program of Radio Vatican. “We decided to do that to complete the everyday religious program. We broadcast our religious program from 18.30 to 19h every day, and after that, we broadcast Radio Vatican through satellite”, the chief editor said, and emphasized that the listeners are very satisfied as with the home religious program and also with the emission of Vaticans program.
