Archbishop Bozanić Received the President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi

Zagreb, July 11, 2003 (IKA) – The president of the Croatian Conference of Bishops and the vice president of the Council of European Bishops’ Conferences, Archbishop Josip Bozanić of Zagreb, received the president of the European Commission, Romano Prodi, with his entourage at the residence of the archbishop in Zagreb on Thursday, July 10. During a long conversation, Archbishop Bozanić and President Prodi spoke about the situation in Croatia, Europe and the world. The president of the European Commission informed Archbishop Bozanić about the relations between the European Union and Croatia and of new attempts to bring Croatia closer to the European Union.
Mr. Prodi was accompanied by the chief of the Delegation of the European Commission in the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Jacques Wunenburger, the diplomatic advisor Mr. Stefano Sannino, a member of the cabinet of Chris Patten, Mr. Patrick Rock, and the deputy chief and advisor for the Republic of Croatia in the Directorate General of the European Commission for External Relations, Ms. Paola Pampaloni.
