Banja Luka bishop Franjo Komarica adressed a Ietter to UN high representative Karl Bildt
Zagreb, 14. 11. 1996. (IKA) – Banja Luka bishop Franjo Komarica adressed a Ietter to UN high representative Karl Bildt in which he emphasizes, once again, the need for the return of all refugees and displaced persons to their places of residence before the war, as soon as possible. In the letter, it is also emphasized that bishop Komarica met, in Banja Luka, the member of Coalition for return to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mile Marčeta who informed him about the difficult situation of Serbian refugees from Drvar territory, and about the situation of Serbs who used to live at the territory of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina before the war, specially at Western parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. “He is also complaining at the actual representatives of Serbian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina who make not enough effort for their compatriots concerning their return, as it was decided by Dayton agreements”, is in the letter. UN representative in Banja Luka Christine Vasek was also present at that meeting. “She asks me, as Catholic bishop, to intercede with You, actually Your office, and with three members of Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency, in behalf of all refugees and displaced persons, equally in behalf of Serbian as in behalf of the other two constitutive nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I hope that Your Excellency and the deputy of Your Excellency Michael Steiner are informed that I firmly interceded, as an aborigine resident of Banja Luka, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the protection of elementary human rights, civil rights and freedom for every man regardless of confession, nationality or any other determination. (…) I beg You to find the way, You personally or with help your close associates for more direct contacts with named Coalition for return of refugees and displaced persons to Bosnia and Herzegovina so You could recognize the actual dramatic situation of “common man” as objectively as possible”, is among other subjects in bishop Komarica#!s letter to Karl Bildt.
