Bishop Komarica received recognition from Croatian Victimological Society

Zagreb, 27. 3. 1996. (IKA) – Banja Luka bishop Franjo Komarica received today at “European House” in Zagreb, a recognition of Croatian Victimological Society for a great sacrifice showing courage and determination to stay at his home in Banja Luka and permanently rising his voice against the violence and persecution of non Serbian population. At the beginning of the ceremony, president of the Society Prof. dr. Zvonimir Šeparović asked the participants to pay honor with a minute of silence, and to remember of all who suffered in the War and specially of those who suffered in Banja Luka, “17th June last year, we decided to assign a recognition to bishop Komarica, a great light of Banja Luka and Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, said Prof. Šeparović. “In the name of all sufferer of the War we assign this recognition to a man who denied his own safety for the good of the others”, concluded Šeparović, and he added that the Society will recommend bishop Komarica for the Nobel#!s Price. Thanking for the received recognition, bishop said: “I receive this recognition not for myself because I am the least important, this is a recognition to all who suffered pains and were hurt, and I have a wish your generosity to expand as a sign of philanthropy”. Bishop also expressed his wishes “Banja Luka to be the place of victory of Iove against hatred, piece against war forgiveness against evil and let the history document that the evil has not triumphed”. The whole bishop#!s speech was tilled with human and humanity, and he ended with the words: “The Man, it sounds so proudly, the Man, it sounds so miserably, the man, it sounds so responsibly”. At the
musical past , Banja Luka choir “Nada” (“Hope”) gave the performance to the participants.
