Bishop Komarica#!s book "In defense of men without rights! presented in Zagreb

Zagreb, 14. 11. 1996. (IKA) – Bishop Franjo Komarica#!s book “In defense of men without rights” has been presented at the hall of Seminary for boys, Šalata in Zagreb, in presence of high ecclesiastic representatives, representatives of the government and cultural and public life, and many others, on Tuesday, 12 November. Vicar of Banja Luka diocese in Zagreb dr. Miljenko Aničić presented the book and, in his introduction speech, he greeted Apostolic nuncio, in Republic Croatia Giulio Einaudi, bishops Marko Culej and Juraj Jezerinac, the representatives of confessional communities and the representatives of the government. Dr. Aničić spoke, in his introduction speech, about bishop Komarica#!s life, his work before the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, specially about his activities in achieving of good relations with other confessional communities. “When it was obvious to him that the war will start in Bosnia and Herzegovina, bishop was making all efforts to dissuade his believers of arms and fight: #!We, Catholics, don#!t want the arms, we don#!t want to fight, we are not enemies to anybody#!. Such a clear and by Gospel motivated stand point of the bishop, who will be followed by numerous believers, could not prevent Serbian extremists to start a sort of war against peaceful Catholic people, and also against Muslim people”. With these words dr. Aničić started his witnessing of Banja Luka bishop#!s indefatigable struggle for the rights and dignity of every man, about the bishop#!s courage of a superman, his persistence and his firm faith Almighty that lead him during all years of the war. After the introduction, chancellor of Banja Luka diocese and the editor of the book Ivica Božinović, representative of the publisher “Zoro” Zoran Filipović, dr. Zvonimir Šeparović, dr. Adalbert Rebić, Prof. Velimir Blažević, Ante Beljo, Olga Carević, dr. Slobodan Lang and Zagreb assistant bishop Marko Culej spoke also about the book “In defense of the men without rights” and about bishop Franjo Komarica#!s struggle. At the end, bishop Franjo Komarica himself addressed the participants.
Ivica Blažinović told about the structure of the book, its ten chapters that presents the selection of documents and letters wrote by bishop Komarica through the period of 1992nd to 1995th. Dr. Zvonimir Šeparović named the book as a “special, of Prometheus, strong” book. At the end he thanked to bishop Komarica, who present “he conscience of Croatian people and the most Iuminous person of the tragedy, of Croatian people in last four years#!#!, for the book and the struggle which it is the witness. Dr. Adalbert Rebić spoke, concerning the example of bishop Franjo Komarica, about the attitude of catholic Church in the war at the territories of former Yugoslavia and about the relations between the Church in Croatia and other confessional communities.
Father Prof. dr. Velimir Blažević spoke about the reactions to indefatigable struggle of bishop Komarica. Dr. Slobodan Lang said, taking the example of Banja Luka and its residents, about the problems of the soul at the moment of passion and asked all participants to help Zaire.
After the lectures about the book, bishop Komarica addressed the participants.
“Let me add something. This evening it was not me, brother Franjo, in the center of attention, but God who is consolidated with man and stand on the man#!s side and who is calling the man to stand on the side of God”, said Banja Luka bishop to the participants and he called them to fight for every man without rights.
