Cardinal Bozanić Received Premier Sanader

As the vice president of the Council of European Bishops’ Conferences, Cardinal Bozanić emphasized the full support of this church body for Croatian European aspirations
Zagreb (IKA) – The president of the Croatian Conference of Bishops, Archbishop Cardinal Josip Bozanić, received the Premier of the Republic of Croatia, Dr. Ivo Sanader, at the Archbishop’s Residence in Zagreb on July 13, according to the Public Relations Office of the Archbishop of Zagreb. Cardinal Bozanić was accompnaied by the general vicar of the Zagreb Archdiocese, Prelate Vladimir Stanković, and in the delegation of Premier Sanader were the president of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and minister of culture, Božo Biškupić, and the secretary of the Central Government Office for the Administration of Government Property, Grgo Ivezić.
Cardinal Bozanić congratulated Premier Sanader on the exceptional successes in bringing Croatia closer to the European Union, pointing out that Croatia has something to offer the European community of nations. As the vice president of the Council of European Bishops’ Conferences, Cardinal Bozanić emphasized the full support of this church body for Croatian European aspirations.
There was discussion on the particular importance of the implementation of the four contracts signed between the Republic of Croatia and the Holy See. Premier Sanader and Cardinal Bozanić assessed that the relations between the Catholic Church and the Government of Croatia are correct and emphasized that mixed working groups should resolve open questions regarding the contracts between the Holy See and the Republic of Croatia.
