Zagreb Archbishop Franjo Cardinal Kuharić sent a congratulation to the new nominated bishop of Kotor Ilija Janjić
Zagreb, 25. 4. 1996. (IKA) – Zagreb Archbishop Franjo Cardinal Kuharić sent, 25th April, a congratulation to the new nominated bishop of Kotor Ilija Janjić, who will be ordained bishop on 27th April in front of Kotor#!s Cathedral of St. Trypho. Congratulating him, Cardinal says: “I express You my very sincere congratulation. I am participating in that sacred and solemn event of Your life with my prayers”, he regrets also that he, personally, will not be able to be present because of his visit to Canada. “Your religious community is really small and lives under the special circumstances (not without anxiety), so it needs a good Shepherd who will gather it together, to encourage it and to comfort it”, Archbishop Kuharić emphasized in his letter. At the end of his congratulation, Zagreb Archbishop sends sincere compliments to the future bishop, to all priests, friars and nuns and invokes the God#!s blessing upon them and upon all believers.
Cardinal Kuharić has sent a letter to present Kotor bishop Ivo Gugić, too. In the letter says: “While I congratulate to Your successor, I think on Your with courtesy and respect, remembering of Your cooperation with Bishops Conference through decades. I thank You for Your cooperation and I promise to You the everlasting remembrance in my prayers. Now, when the cross of responsibility and of the pastoral care for that small flock, who will continue to carry the cross of its life under those circumstances, has been taken of Your shoulders, You will continue to support the Sheperd and the flock with Your advise and prayers”.
