Zagreb, 18. 6. 1996. (IKA) – Zagreb Archbishop Franjo Cardinal Kuharić has been elected President of Croatian Bishops Conference again, in the morning of the first day of Croatian Bishops Conference two days Session. Šibenik bishop Srećko Badurina was confirmed again as vice president. Dubrovnik bishop Želimir Puljić and Krk bishop Josip Bozanić were confirmed as members of Croatian Bishops Conference Permanent Council, again.
According to the Statute, the same bishop could be elected twice in sequence. Croatian Bishops Conference was founded 1993rd, so, this happens to be the second mandate for Cardinal Kuharić.
