Sarajevo, December 8, 1998 (IKA-KTA) – On December 7, Archbishop Cardinal Vinko Puljić of Sarajevo received a delegation from the American philanthropic association American Gifts. The delegation was led by its president, Anne Kauzlarich, the wife of the American ambassador to Sarajevo, who was joined by Barbara Gomes and Dennis Coster, a member of the International Police in Sarajevo. On behalf of the association, they presented Cardinal Puljić with a contribution of US $1,785 for the restoration of the cathedral windows damaged during the recent war. Their gift is in connection with the commemoration of the anniversary of the helicopter crash which killed members of the peacekeeping forces. It is their wish for the restoration to be performed as soon as possible so that the stained-glass windows can be a lasting monument to them, as well as to all who died during the war. Dennis Coster thanked Cardinal Puljić for everything he had done for the victims of this accident. Cardinal Puljić thanked the delegation for their gift and acquainted his guests with renovation plans for the cathedral and the related difficulties. He also informed them about other programs and difficulties experienced by the Catholic Church in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
