Slavonski Brod, October 4, 2000 (IKA) — For the refurbishing of the residential facilities and places of worship of the Serbian Orthodox Church located on Trg Pobjede in Slavonski Brod, the Caritas branch of the Slavonski Brod Deanery has made a donation of joinery and furniture, i.e. fifteen windows, two doors and fifty chairs. Thanking David Sluganović, head the local branch of Caritas and priest of the parish of the Holy Family in Slavonski Brod, the Serbian Orthodox dean of Požega-Slavonski Brod, Anđelko Sailović, pointed out that the Rev. Sluganović is a person full of understanding for the joint mission which Christians carry out among believers. “This donation,” added Dean Sailović, “is a continuation of assistance that has been provided, even during the war years, by the Catholic Church, Caritas, Bishop Antun Škvorčević of Požega and Bishop Marin Srakić of Đakovo and Srijem to the Serbian Orthodox Church in the region of these dioceses.”
