Final Meeting of the Government Commission for the Preparations for the Pope’s Visit to Croatia

The final preparations for the arrival of the Pope are in progress. All open questions have been resolved

Zagreb, (IKA) — The members of the Government Commission for the Preparations for the Visit by Pope John II to the Republic of Croatia held their final meeting on May 29, at which they reported on the progress of the preparations for the visit by Holy Father to Croatia, according to a press release issued by the Public Relations Office of the Government of the Republic of Croatia. Dr. Goran Granic, deputy prime minister of the Republic of Crotia and president of the Commission, presided.
The meeting participants confirmed that all those authorized for making the preparations for the visit by the Holy Father to Croatia are engaged in the final preparations. The preparations are going according to plan, all the open questions have been resolved, and there are no problems regarding the organization of the visit, which is in its final phase. At the meeting, it was concluded that the visit by the Holy Father to Croatia is expected to proceed successfully.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the ministries and the authorized services involved in the preparations for the visit by the Holy Father, and also by representatives of the counties and cities that the Holy Father will visit. Also present at the meeting were Dr. Ivica Mastruko, assistant advisor for internal policies of the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia, as well as Balatazar Jalsovec, the assistant speaker of the Croatian Parliament.
