High representatives of European churches#!s conference in visit to Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina

Zagreb, 21. 8. 1996. (IKA) – Secretary general of Conference of European Churches (KEK) from Geneva Jean Fischer and the advisor for the territory of former Yugoslavia dr. John Taylor visited Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina from 10th to 19th August. High representatives of KEK
visited two new members of KEK: Baptists Church and Pentecostal Church, too. They talked with the president of the Baptists Churches Union dr. Branko Lovrenc and with the secretary of Pentecostal Church Stanko Jambrek. President of Croatian Bishops Conference Council for ecumenism and dialogue bishop Ðuro Kokša and the secretary of that Council dr. Antun Škvorèeviæ received Jean Fischer and dr. John Taylor on Monday, 12th August. They discussed, among other subjects, the activities of KEK and the possibilities of cooperation concerning ecumenism in Croatia. Representatives of KEK visited Catholic Radio in foundation in Zagreb interesting for its positive and negative consequences on ecumenical relationships in Croatia. After three days visit to Zagreb, representatives of KEK went to Šibenik, where they met bishop Sreæko Badurina, then to Bosnia and Herzegovina, visiting Mostar, Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Sanski Most and Bihaæ. Dr. John Taylor is going to visit Belgrade in September and he will ask for possibilities of organizing a meeting between Catholic and Orthodox delegates. This kind of meeting, planned for March this year, was canceled.
