At the Eucharistic celebration at the Shrine of Our Lady of Trsat, the main event of the Second Meeting of Croatian Catholic Families, more than 10,000 Marian pilgrims from all parts of the country were assembled in prayer.

The President of the Croatian Conference of Bishops encouraged participation in the Second Encounter of Croatian Catholic Families.

"Now no one has the right to wash his hands as Pilate did, especially anyone who has not done what was required. The state authorities must block attempts to resolve this issue in a merely cosmetic manner because every time a problem is swept under the rug, new difficulties and tensions are created, which threaten the civil peace."

In addition to the central topic of ecumenism in the territory of this ecclesiastical province, the bishops discussed pastoral responses to the serious economic and demographic situations in Slavonia.
