Archbishop Hranić presented a message from the Bishops of the CCB to young people entitled "Male and Female He Created Them!"

With all my soul, I protest the decision to close the Sisak Refinery. I appeal to those responsible to resist pressures and defend not only our city of Sisak but also Croatia and our people, especially workers and their families, and to save the future for which so many generations of the best Croatian people have lovingly sacrificed.

The bishops urge priests, religious, all lay faithful and people of goodwill to pray fervently for peace in Ukraine and Iraq on Sunday, September 14, 2014, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

Joint press conference held by Bishop Uzinić and Imam Herić of Dubrovnik – "Our intention is not to judge the political organizations, as we are religious communities, but to state clearly that some things being done in the name of God are not and cannot be in the name of God but are the betrayal of God. It is our clear intention to stand on the side of those who are victims and not on the side of those who are aggressors."

The Cardinal and Metropolitan urge the faithful to pray for peace, especially for the Christians suffering in Syria and Iraq, and those in authority to do everything in their power to avoid the further suffering of the population.

Eparchial Vicar Milan Vranešić recalled Don Živko speaking about unforgettable moments spent with the people of Žumberak, absorbing those foundations for life, which, he used to say, cannot be obtained through pretentious scholastics, physics or mathematics, but only from venerable mountain highland wisdom.
