Preparations for Encounters with the Holy Father Going Well
Zagreb
Zagreb, (IKA) – On Friday, May 13, a regular session was held of the Zagreb Archdiocesan Council for Preparations for the Pastoral Visit by Pope Benedict XVI to Croatia, chaired by Archbishop Josip Cardinal Bozanić of Zagreb.
The coordinators of the individual groups said that the preparations for the Pope’s visit are proceeding as they should and everything will be ready on time. On Saturday, June 4, young people will meet with the Pope in a prayer vigil at Ban Josip Jelačić Square, and all who wish to do so will be able to participate in the vigil, regardless of age, on the square in front of the Zagreb Cathedral and the Kaptol section of Zagreb, where a video wall and sound system will be set up. Registration and tickets will not be necessary for the area in front of the cathedral and Kaptol. When the Pope leaves the square, he will ride past the cathedral and Kaptol by Popemobile and bless all those assembled there.
Preparations for the celebration of Sunday Mass at the Zagreb Hippodrome on June 5 are also going well, as is application for tickets by pilgrims.
Everyone who wants to attend the encounter with the Holy Father at the Zagreb Hippodrome on Sunday, June 5, can apply for tickets at his or her parish.
As Cardinal Bozanić pointed out, “the visit by the Holy Father to our Homeland is a moment of grace for all, both for believers and all people of good will.” He thanked everyone who is participating in organizing the Pope’s visit and invited all the faithful to attend the encounters with the Holy Father.
