Zagreb, August 27, 1998 (IKA) After the presentation of two official badges, one with a picture of Pope John Paul II and the other with a picture of Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, the Zagreb Archdiocesan Commission for Preparations for the Visit by Pope John Paul II presented two metal plaques as official souvenirs. One plaque has a picture of the Holy Father with outstretched arms, the inscription: “Pope John Paul II, again in Croatia, October 2-4, 1998” and the motto of the visit: “You shall be my witnesses!” On the second plaque is a picture of Cardinal Stepinac with the inscription: “The Martyr Alojzije Stepinac Beatification, October 3, 1998, Marija Bistrica.” Both plaques also have the Croatian braided cross. They come with stands and cost 8.98 HRK each.
Official souvenirs can be purchased in parish offices. The revenue from sales is intended to defray organizational expenses.
