Šibenik (IKA) — “Row on the Open Sea” is the motto of a meeting of Croatian Catholic youth that will be held on Saturday, April 24, and Sunday, April 25, in Šibenik and the parishes of the Šibenik Diocese. On the first day, the program will take place in the city harbor. During the introductory part of the program, the young people will be greeted by Bishop Ante Ivas of Šibenik, and then there will be a presentation of the host Šibenik Diocese. This will be followed by testimony from young people (who have experienced spiritual callings or conversions, who have completed a program of religious studies, young families) and meditation. The Mass will be celebrated at 5 p.m. and led by the president of the Croatian Conference of Bishops, Archbishop Cardinal Josip Bozanić of Zagreb. A program of entertainment is planned for the evening. The Sunday program will be conducted in the diocese parishes. Plans for that day include meditation and participation by the young people in the celebration of the Eucharist, after which there will be introductions and an opportunity for the guests and hosts to become acquainted.
According to information from the Central Organizing Committee, over fourteen thousand young people from all over Croatia are expected to attend, in addition to a thousand from the Croatian diaspora, most of whom will be coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
