Session of the interreligious Council of Bosnia-Herzegovina

Sarajevo, September 21, 1999 (IKA) — The Interreligious Council of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Archbishop Vinko Puljič of Sarajevo presiding, held its tenth regular session yesterday, September 20, 1999 at the Palace of the Archbishop in Sarajevo. All the members of the Council attended. The main topics discussed were the Council’s media activities, its plans, a trip by all the members of the Council to the district of Brčko and several joint foreign trips, and discussions concerning future meetings with representatives of several government institutions. A new glossary was presented at the session that defines concepts and expressions used by individual religious communities. The members of the Interreligious Council were introduced to the members of the media group (consisting of two members from each religious community) that will begin broadcasting a radio program entitled “Susret” [Encounter] at the beginning of next month. The Council has also taken an active role concerning the promotion of an interreligious spirit of tolerance and cooperation throughout the territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
