Session of the Justitia et Pax Commission of the Croatian Conference of Bishops

Within the context of discussion of unresolved matters regarding the national past, the Commission expressed concern due to the lack of a uniform approach by the society and the state legal institutions toward all crimes committed, and urges the responsible institutions in the society to respond to the public appeal issued by Cardinal Bozanić in Bleiburg on May 13 to process all crimes, since there is no statute of limitations on crimes.

Zagreb, (IKA) – The Justitia et Pax Commission of the Croatian Conference of Bishops held a session on Tuesday, May 29, at the Secretariat of the CCB in Zagreb, presided over by Bishop Vlado Košić.
At the session, Bishop Košić reported on the 34th Plenary Spring Session of the Croatian Conference of Bishops held in Zagreb, at which, among other things, there was discussion of the work of the Justitia et Pax Commission. Dr. Dubravka Petrović, a member of the Justitia et Pax Commission, reported on the fourth Croatian conference on waters with international participation entitled Croatian Waters and the European Union – Challenges and Opportunities, which was held in Opatija from May 17 to 19 of this year. The Commission is of the opinion that the Croatian public should devote greater attention to the strategy of the management of Croatian waters and their use throughout the territory of the Republic of Croatia. It was decided that the Commission will speak out about this topic.
The Commission also discussed current social questions in Croatia and determined the topics of public importance concerning social justice it will address.
