The Bishop of Varaždin Congratulates Filip Ude, Olympian Silver Medalist

Varaždin, (IKA) – Bishop Josip Mrzljak of Varaždin congratulated the Croatian gymnast Filip Ude for finishing in second place on the men’s pummel horse competition at the Beijing Olympics on Sunday, August 17.
Biskup Mrzljak congratulated Filip on his silver medal, which made many people in Međimurje and Croatia very happy. “This medal is an award for your strenuous work, renunciation and sacrifices over many days, months and yeas. With such a life, you present an example to all, especially your generation of young men and women, on how to achieve success in life. I wish you many victories, medallions and awards. However, never forget that the most important award is the one that comes at the end of life, which is given to us by the Creator, who is at the beginning and end of our earthly life. This award is also achieved through many sacrifices and renunciations but brings profound spiritual joys that happiness in both earthly life and eternity. Many are praying for you these days. I join them and pray for your good health so that you will be able have many more joyful successes and victories,” emphasized the bishop in his congratulations, sending heartfelt greetings and a blessing to Filip, his mother, sisters and entire family.
