The Pope Has Concluded His Apostolic Visit to Croatia

Zagreb, (IKA) – Pope Benedict XVI has concluded his apostolic visit to Croatia, which had the motto “Together in Christ.” The Holy Father, accompanied by his entourage and journalists accredited to the Holy See, departed from Zagreb at 8:30 p.m. on a Croatian Airlines Airbus 320 Dubrovnik. The Pope was accompanied by his host, the Archbishop of Zagreb, Cardinal Josip Bozanić, and the Secretary General of the Croatian Conference of Bishops and Chief Coordinator of the Organizing Committee of the CCB for the Preparation of the Pope’s Visit, Msgr. Enco Rodinis.
Due to the stormy weather in the area of the Pleso Airport, the ceremonial farewell to Pope Benedict XVI was cancelled. The Holy Father briefly bid farewell to the government officials and Church leaders as he departed Croatia.
