He will be remembered by generations of readers, admirers and parishioners.

Zagreb, (IKA) – The President of the Republic of Croatia, Ivo Josipović, sent a letter of condolence to the family of the late Rev. (Don) Živko Kustić.
“It was with sincere sorrow that I received the news of the death of the esteemed Don Živko Kustić. During his lifetime, Don Živko fulfilled his priestly mission conscientiously, with an open heart and mind. He championed the Church, which is based on universal ethics and communicates with the world, graciously, reasonably and with understanding. He was a pioneer of Catholic journalism in the mid 1960s, when the influence of the Second Vatican Council began to reach our region. He was a superb intellectual and assiduous promoter of the idea of the Good. His contribution to the spread of the ideas of tolerance and dialogue, under circumstances that were not conducive to religion and the Church, was immeasurable. Don Živko was a good and noble man, who was always thinking of the welfare of the Church and Homeland. Until the last day of his life, he was prepared to fulfill his priestly mission: to provide spiritual consolation and hope. He will be remembered by generations of readers, admirers and parishioners. He will be missed by all those who loved and respected him,” wrote the President of the Republic of Croatia.
