On the occasion of the second visit by Pope John Paul II to Croatia, an official web page on the Internet has been prepared
Zagreb, September 23, 1998 (IKA) – On the occasion of the second visit by Pope John Paul II to Croatia, an official web page on the Internet has been prepared by the Press Office of the Croatian Conference of Bishops, Croatian Information Center and Croatian Academic Computer Network CARNet. Page www.papa.hr contains statements issued by the Croatian Conference of Bishops on the Pope#!s visit and the proclamation of the beatification of Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, the program of the Pope#!s visit, the biography of Pope John Paul II, the procedure for the beatification and biography of Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, background for journalists and other useful information. The texts on the page are in Croatian, English, German and Italian. The editors responsible for the official web page are Fra Ilija Živković, head of the Press Office of the Croatian Conference of Bishops; Ante Beljo on behalf of the Croatian Information Center and Vesna Vrga on behalf of CARNet. The executive editor of the page is Fra Mihael Nekić.
In honor of the visit by the Holy Father to Split and Solin, Don Jure Strujić has also prepared a web page (sustipan.pujanke.hr/split/papa.htm) on which it is possible to obtain information about the Church in Split, its history, faith, customs, and the history of the city and cathedral of Split. Particular attention has been devoted to the city of Solin and the Solin shrine, Our Lady of Otok, which the Pope will visit on October 4.
