Nineteenth plenary session of the Croatian Conference of Bishops to be held in Varaždin

Zagreb, September 17, 1999 (IKA) — The nineteenth plenary session of the Croatian Conference of Bishops will be held in Varaždin from September 20 to 23, according to an announcement from the Press Office of the Croatian Conference of Bishops. The session will commence on Monday, September 20, at 4 p.m. at the Diocesan Ordinariate in Varaždin. Among the many topics to be discussed at this three-day session will be questions concerning cooperation between the clergy and laity in the mission of the Church and proposals for holding diocesan eucharistic congresses during the year 2000. Among other topics, the bishops will receive reports on catechism in the Republic of Croatia and the activities of the Center for the Promotion of the Social Doctrine of the Church. One of the most important topics to be discussed at the session will be the status of the preparations for the Great Jubilee 2000, according to the Press Office.
