Zagreb, July 22, 1999 (IKA) — On the occasion of the death of Dr. Tomislav Janko Šagi-Bunić, the president of the Government Commission for Relations with the Religious Communities of the Republic of Croatia, Dr. Nedjeljko Mihanović, sent a telegram of condolence to the Croatian Capuchin Province of St. Leopold Mandić, expressing sympathy and final respects. “On the occasion of the death of a member of your religious community, the distinguished Prof. Tomislav Šagi-Bunić, on behalf of the Government Commission for Relations with the Religious Communities of the Republic of Croatia, I express my deep sympathies. In his scholarly work, Dr. Šagi-Bunić systematically expressed his confidence not only in human understanding but also in the tenets of the truth of the gospel and in the powerful wisdom of God. May the Lord grant him divine peace and reward him for his worthy intellectual and religious service which he performed ardently during his lifetime,” states the telegram.
