Zagreb, (IKA) – Croatian Caritas has inaugurated a campaign to collect monetary assistance to help victims of the flooding in Southern Asia, according to a statement signed by the president of Croatian Caritas, Bishop Josip Mrzljak. According to Caritas information, over 1,200 persons in India, 150 in Bangladesh and over 100 in Nepal have lost their live to the flooding. When the waters recede, there will certainly be new victims. The Caritas network in India helps more than 50,000 people and many thousands more in other endangered countries, mostly with food, drinking water, temporary shelter and medication. Help always reaches the neediest persons via the Caritas network.
Croatian citizens have the opportunity to demonstrate their solidarity with the victims and make a monetary contribution, so that Croatian Caritas via its partners in these countries can concretely and effectively help the neediest persons who have be left homeless.
