Expressions of condolence from the president of the Croatian Conference of Bishops, Archbishop Josip Bozanić of Zagreb, on occasion of the death of father Tomislav Šagi-Bunić

Zagreb, July 21, 1999 (IKA) — “With the death of Prof. Tomislav Šagi Bunić, we have lost one of the greatest promoters of conciliar thought in the Catholic Church in Croatia. He has imprinted an indelible stamp upon Croatian theology and generally upon our Catholicism of the past decades. Commending his noble soul to the merciful Father, we pray that nothing is lost of the good for which he lived and which he left us in abundance,” states the telegram of condolences on the occasion of the death of Father Tomislav Šagi-Bunić sent from Germany by the president of the Croatian Conference of Bishops, Archbishop Josip Bozanić, to the provincial of the Croatian Capuchin Province, Father Jure Šarčević. Archbishop Bozanić expressed regrets that due to his visit to Germany, he will not be able to conduct the funeral of the distinguished Croatian theologian personally.
