Sure passage is being allowed for those who wish to peacefully leave the area, while those who wish to, may return to their homes even though they may have left during the recent military operations. This news is constantly being broadcasted over the radio and television news. Prisoners of war are being treated humanly and according to international conventions. The Law on Abolition is being applied to prisoners of war if they have not been accused of war crimes. The Catholic Church too is doing its part with regard to the respect of human rights of the of the people of the Serbian nationality. We are not aware that any acts of violence have been committed against citizens of Serbian nationality in the area. The Minister of Interior, Mr. Jarnjak is continuously calling for peace and order and the respect of all individual citizens and their property”, wrote the Cardinal in his letter to bishop Komarica.
